I’m happy to announce that I’ve just finished a crucial project at Zupee, which involved moving our infrastructure from conventional EC2 instances to a completely containerized environment with Docker and Kubernetes. In addition to modernizing our technological stack, this major change offers considerable benefits, such as monthly savings of $2, xxx to $3, xxx.
I learned a great deal about FinOps during this trip and gained insightful knowledge on maximising cloud expenses. By bridging the gap between engineering and finance, FinOps plays a critical role in ensuring that our infrastructure decisions are economically and technically sound. Making decisions that improved our operations’ technical and financial elements required a thorough understanding of the FinOps tenets.
One of the migration’s most notable accomplishments was keeping up a 0% downtime rate the entire time while handling 2x–3x million visits per day. Our team’s collaborative efforts and the strong DevOps techniques we have adopted have been instrumental in achieving zero downtime. This smooth transition guaranteed a consistent and excellent user experience while also improving the scalability and performance of our platform.
I was given this important project because of my extensive background in full-stack development, which gave me the knowledge I needed to handle the challenges of this migration. Zupee and I have reached a major milestone with the successful completion of this project, which has strengthened our dedication to innovation and operational excellence.
