Microsoft taught Apple nothing

I understand the sentiment, but the author fails to understand it’s not developers who drive apple. Apple has at it’s core a bunch of enthusiasts who will buy anything Apple makes. I mean do you remember the monitor stand that cost $1000? While it is cute to think Apple might care about devs; the answer is a flat no they do not. Microsoft on the other hand was built on dev support. They do not have a ton of success with commercial products (Zune anyone?). The companies have different markets and demographics. This article taught me nothing, save the author is missing the bigger picture; how does a company create enthusiasts?

Apple needs to fix their developer Eco-system, From Swiftui to xcode. Its 2024 and still xcode takes a long time to compile applications on a shiny new MacbookPro M3 Max chip.
The other thing is that Apple really needs to re-evaluate the AppStore. 30% is a very high price tag for in-app purchases. Not really fair Apple

Apple also owes it’s existence to Google in many ways now
