Microsoft has confirmed a known issue where Windows domain controllers enter reboot loops due to LSASS crashes after installing the April 2026 security update (KB5082063). The problem affects non-Global Catalog domain controllers in environments using Privileged Access Management (PAM), impacting Windows Server 2016 through 2025. Affected servers may restart repeatedly, preventing authentication and directory services from functioning. Microsoft has not yet released a fix and advises impacted IT administrators to contact Microsoft Support for Business for mitigation steps. This follows a pattern of similar domain controller issues triggered by April security updates in 2024 and 2025.
