Microsoft has begun removing Copilot branding from Windows 11 apps, starting with Notepad and Snipping Tool in Insider builds. In Notepad, the Copilot icon has been replaced with a 'Writing tools' label and pen icon, and AI references have been removed from settings. The underlying AI features remain functional but are no longer prominently branded as Copilot. This follows Microsoft's earlier announcement to reduce unnecessary Copilot entry points across Windows 11 apps including Photos and Widgets.
