Microsoft has launched Database Hub, a unified database management tool within its Fabric data platform, currently in early access. It consolidates management of Azure SQL Server, Azure Cosmos DB, Azure Database for PostgreSQL, Azure Database for MySQL, SQL Server via Azure Arc, and other Fabric services into a single interface covering on-premises, PaaS, and SaaS environments. Microsoft plans to layer AI capabilities on top, including agent-assisted monitoring and Copilot-driven insights for performance and health analysis. The move positions Fabric as a competitor to similar unified data platforms from Databricks and Snowflake, both of which have also recently added transactional database services.
