Microsoft Bob, introduced in 1995, was an attempt by Microsoft to offer a novice-friendly interface for Windows that simulated a house with rooms and familiar objects. Despite initial positive reactions at CES, poor sales, resource demands, and overall negative reception led to its discontinuation a year later. However, some of its ideas persisted in later products like Office’s virtual assistants and influenced the creation of the Comic Sans font. Microsoft Bob also has a legacy as one of the worst tech products ever listed.
