Microsoft admits that Teams' UI is way too crowded, but it's working on a fix

Microsoft has acknowledged that the Teams meeting UI has become too cluttered, causing accidental clicks on high-impact actions like Share, Leave, and Raise Hand. To fix this, Teams will receive centered meeting controls with the Leave button repositioned, less-used actions moved to a 'More' menu, and customizable control pinning. A redesigned share panel will add a two-step confirmation to prevent accidental screen sharing, along with live previews and a tabbed layout. The rollout begins with targeted users in early July 2026 and completes worldwide by late August 2026.
