Microsoft has officially confirmed its new Microsoft 365 E7 subscription tier, dubbed the 'First Frontier Suite,' launching May 1 at $99 per user per month. The tier bundles Microsoft 365 E5, Microsoft 365 Copilot, and the new Agent 365 AI agent control plane (also launching May 1 at $15 pupm). Gartner analyzed the pricing and found the bundle discount versus buying components separately is only 13.2%, calling it unimpressive compared to discounts offered at lower tiers. Gartner also criticized Agent 365 as a 'work in progress' with limited new functionality, advising organizations against upgrading to E7 until Microsoft adds more value. Enterprises are warned to review contracts carefully and avoid nonreduction clauses.
