I don’t like to be micromanaged but I do like a more verbose style of communication than most others probably do. I try to match how the team works as closely as possible and it is mostly on the less managed side of things, which is okay but could mean I head in the wrong direction from time to time.

I agree, there’s alot of nuance here, but i think it ultimately rests with the manager to balance it. Theres a time for hands on management and time for hand off.
Good managers know which is which !
