Unreal Engine 5.8 Preview introduces several new MetaHuman features. MetaHuman Collections and the MetaHuman Crowds plugin allow populating real-time environments with thousands of characters. Mesh to MetaHuman now supports converting any mesh into a full MetaHuman including head and body. MetaHuman Animator gains Linux and macOS support. MetaHuman Creator adds custom lighting scenes for environment-context previewing and unbaked texture editing before final bake. The preview is available via Epic Games Launcher, GitHub, and Linux builds, but is considered unstable and not recommended for production projects.
