Meta is deploying tracking software on US employees' computers to capture mouse movements, clicks, keystrokes, and occasional screen snapshots. The data will be used exclusively to train AI models — specifically to improve areas where models struggle, such as dropdown menu navigation and keyboard shortcuts. The initiative is part of Meta SuperIntelligence Labs' effort to build AI agents capable of autonomously performing computer-based work tasks. Meta says the data won't be used for performance reviews and that safeguards are in place to protect sensitive content.
