Meta is testing a standalone app for Vibes, its AI-generated short-form video platform originally launched within the Meta AI app in September. The move positions Vibes as a direct competitor to OpenAI's Sora. Users can create AI videos from scratch or remix existing ones, add music and visuals, then share to the Vibes feed or cross-post to Instagram and Facebook. Meta plans to introduce a freemium subscription model in coming months, offering paid tiers for additional video creation capacity.
