Meta is pivoting its Horizon Worlds metaverse platform away from Quest VR to focus almost exclusively on mobile, citing the need to reach a larger market. Reality Labs VP Samantha Ryan announced the company is separating its Quest VR platform from Horizon Worlds, doubling down on the VR third-party developer ecosystem while redirecting Worlds toward mobile. This follows Reality Labs reporting a $19.2 billion loss in 2025, a 10% staff cut, and the closure of three first-party VR studios.
