A fix has been merged into Mesa 26.1-devel that improves OpenCL 3.0 support for AMD APUs using the Rusticl Rust-based OpenCL driver. The patch, authored by Red Hat's Karol Herbst, corrects how RadeonSI reports unified memory on APUs — addressing a scenario where APUs show very small discrete vRAM but have large staging system memory available. The fix also implements CL_KERNEL_GLOBAL_WORK_SIZE for custom devices and corrects global memory reporting on mixed memory devices. Originally submitted in July 2024, it was merged this weekend ahead of the Mesa 26.1 release.
