Meridian.AI secured $17 million in seed funding at a $100 million valuation to build an IDE-based approach to AI-powered financial modeling. Unlike previous Excel agents that integrate into spreadsheets, Meridian operates as a standalone workspace similar to Cursor, allowing better integration of data sources. The company addresses the challenge of making AI outputs deterministic and auditable enough for financial clients, who require consistent, predictable results unlike typical software development. The team combines AI expertise from Scale AI and Anthropic with financial veterans from Goldman Sachs, and has already signed $5 million in contracts.
