Google Cloud announces the general availability of Memorystore for Valkey 9.0, a fully managed key-value datastore with significant performance improvements and new developer features. Key performance gains include up to 40% higher throughput via pipeline memory prefetching, 20% gains from zero-copy responses, and 200% throughput improvement for BITCOUNT/HyperLogLog via SIMD optimizations. New developer commands include granular hash field expiration (HEXPIRE), polygon-based geospatial search (GEOSEARCH BYPOLYGON), and atomic conditional delete (DELIFEQ) for safer distributed locking without Lua scripting. Enterprise features include clustered database configuration supporting up to 100 numeric databases for namespace partitioning. Existing customers can upgrade in-place with no downtime.
