Meilisearch's March 2026 update covers several product improvements: new Cloud UI features (prompt generator, document deletion, index stats), two new granular ranking rules (attributeRank and wordPosition) in v1.36, a showPerformanceDetails API parameter for query profiling, replicated sharding shipped in v1.37 as a step toward distributed search, and significant embedding indexing performance improvements in v1.38 including elimination of unnecessary full DB scans and fixes for remote embedder connection errors. The HNSW-backed vector store (Hannoy) is now stable and the legacy backend removed. Security updates include storing API keys in RAM instead of localStorage and a coordinated CVE disclosure. Meilisearch also joined the Rust Foundation.
