Two IEEE members, Gerardo Barbosa and Timothy T. Lee, are petitioning to run for IEEE president-elect in 2027. Barbosa is an IT management expert and current IEEE treasurer who founded enterprise software company CLOUDCOM. Lee is a Boeing Technical Fellow specializing in microelectronics and chip packaging, previously serving as IEEE-USA president. Petition signatures are due April 10, 2026, and the winner will serve as IEEE president in 2028.
