Datadog has released a major update to Bits AI SRE, its autonomous site reliability engineering agent. Key improvements include a new agent harness with MCP-powered tools that makes investigations roughly twice as fast (3-4 minutes), expanded data source access covering RUM, Database Monitoring, Network Path, and Continuous Profiler, and a new Agent Trace view for transparency into reasoning steps. The update also adds human-in-the-loop triage actions directly from chat (Slack, Teams, Jira, PagerDuty-style paging), and three new Action Catalog entries for triggering and retrieving investigations within automated workflows. Preview features include third-party integrations with GitHub, Grafana, Splunk, and others, on-demand investigations without a triggered monitor, a bits.md configuration file for team-specific knowledge, and a public API.
