Investigation reveals the identity of Rey, a 15-year-old administrator of the Scattered LAPSUS$ Hunters cybercrime group responsible for major corporate data breaches and extortion campaigns in 2025. Through operational security failures including exposed credentials from infostealer malware, researchers traced Rey to Saif Al-Din Khader in Amman, Jordan. The group recently launched their own ransomware-as-a-service operation called ShinySp1d3r and has been recruiting corporate insiders. Saif claims to be cooperating with European law enforcement and attempting to exit the group.
