I didn’t have time to read the whole article, but I want to argue that merging feature branches results in, for my team at least, a lot cleaner git history. We “squash merge” into <code>develop</code>, so each commit is either a feature or a fix of some sort. Rebasing would not produce the same.
Also, it’s a team of around 10 developers and we use Git Flow. I don’t think your choice in branching strategy has anything to do with team size. It has everything to do with how you need your CI/CD to work.

Good article, but not entirely consistent. Since 2021, the “master” branch has been renamed to “main” (see e.g. GitLab and GitHub). All illustrations are correct, but master is mentioned in some places in the text.
