Microsoft is announcing new agentic capabilities in Azure Copilot and GitHub Copilot aimed at end-to-end application and infrastructure modernization. The Azure Copilot migration agent (now in public preview) automates discovery, assessment, planning, and deployment for servers, VMs, applications, and databases. The GitHub Copilot modernization agent (also in public preview) acts as an orchestrator to run multiple code assessments simultaneously, build per-application modernization plans, and execute automated framework and runtime upgrades. Together, these agents bridge the gap between infrastructure teams and developers, connecting code-level insights with cloud migration planning. Early customer results show up to 70% reduction in modernization effort. Microsoft also introduced Cloud Accelerate Factory, a zero-cost delivery program pairing these agentic tools with hands-on expert guidance.
