Malte Ubl open-sourced Very Slow AGI (VSAGI), a hackathon project that creates an AI agent with a unique capability: it can generate its own tools using a single meta-tool called generateToolToSolveTask. The system spawns a real VM, runs Claude Code to generate desired functionality, and exposes the generated tools as an MCP server that the original agent can call directly. While slow due to Claude Code's execution speed, the project demonstrates the potential of self-improving AI agents that can create tools on-demand to solve complex tasks.
