Google is expanding its content transparency tools across Search, Gemini, Chrome, Pixel, and Cloud to help users identify AI-generated or edited media. SynthID, Google's digital watermarking technology, has now watermarked over 100 billion images/videos and 60,000 years of audio. Pixel 10 was the first smartphone to embed C2PA Content Credentials natively, with video support coming to Pixel 8, 9, and 10. SynthID verification in the Gemini app has been used 50 million times and is now expanding to Search and Chrome. A new AI Content Detection API is launching on Google Cloud to help businesses identify AI-generated media from Google and other models. Industry partnerships are deepening, with OpenAI, Kakao, ElevenLabs, and NVIDIA adopting SynthID, and Meta planning to label camera-captured Content Credentials on Instagram.
