Independent publisher Lyrical Games has signed a full financing and publishing deal with The Chinese Room, the studio behind Still Wakes the Deep and Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. The deal provides full funding, production support, and go-to-market planning while preserving the developer's creative autonomy and IP ownership — an increasingly rare arrangement in today's industry. Lyrical Games CEO Blake Rochkind describes the company's mission as filling the 'lost middle' in game financing, targeting double-A titles budgeted under $10 million and priced between $40–$50, citing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 as a quality benchmark. Rochkind also emphasizes developer-friendly partnerships as a core business differentiator, arguing that publishers with poor reputations attract lower-quality projects.
