Luminar founder Austin Russell has agreed to accept an electronic subpoena for information on his phone as part of the lidar company's bankruptcy proceedings. The agreement follows accusations that Russell avoided process servers at his Florida mansion. Luminar filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in December after losing major contracts with Volvo and Mercedes-Benz, and is now selling its lidar assets to Quantum Computing Inc. for $22 million, with an auction scheduled for late January. Russell, who resigned as CEO following an ethics inquiry, previously attempted to buy the company and remains interested in bidding for its lidar assets through his new venture, Russell AI Labs.
