Debian has officially added loong64 (LoongArch 64-bit) as a supported architecture, two years after its initial bootstrap in Debian Ports. The architecture will be included in Debian 14 ("forky"). An initial set of 112 packages was manually built to create a bootstrap environment, and the first build daemon has already compiled 300 additional packages overnight. The complete bootstrap process is expected to take about a week, with potential for faster completion if additional build instances are added.
