Log Jam attack is a cryptographic attack from 2015 that targets the diffie-hellman key exchange. It involves a man-in-the-middle attack, protocol downgrade, and breaking the diffie-hellman key using a number field sieve. The attack can be used to read encrypted internet traffic and affects both TLS and VPN protocols. Countermeasures have been implemented in TLS 1.3 to address this vulnerability.
