LocalStack has released version 3 of its AWS emulation framework with a revamped CLI called 'lstk', featuring a Terminal UI (TUI) for guided setup, improved log viewing, and a single easier-to-install binary. The update also extends the Resource Groups Tagging API to cover EKS and CloudWatch, improves EC2 fleet API support beyond mock responses, and consolidates community and enterprise editions into a single platform while removing CI credit limitations. An auth token is now required to start LocalStack. The company is also building Azure emulation services planned for later this year.
