Comprehensive testing results for ARIA live regions across major screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, Narrator, VoiceOver, Orca, TalkBack) reveal inconsistent behavior. The analysis covers five live region types: polite, assertive, alert role, HTML output element, and dynamic aria-describedby. Key findings show that polite/assertive distinctions are often ignored, alert roles rarely announce "alert" prefix, and support varies significantly between audio and Braille output. All tested screen readers correctly hide regions marked as hidden. Includes detailed version-specific results and a testing demo with multiple hiding methods.
