Options available in Xfwm (XFCE default window manager) provides base tiling features, but for default most of useful shortcuts are not set… that’s it, for me it’s good enough and far better than wasting time (again) on yet another WM just to bind some windows to predefined place – to be honest, I already waste enough time to appreciate simpler but still working solutions. :)

gTile is a Gnome plugin that works very well for me on Ubuntu. With Super+Enter you open the plugin, and with arrows (holding ctrl/shift) you can place the active window in any position. I’m a fan.

What about Cosmic i think it brings back enlightment de with gnome as a base

I love i3, on top of Ubuntu. As I am not a ‘Linux guy’, it was not that difficult to configure and setup.
