Linux Mint 23 'Alfa' is in active development, built on Ubuntu 26.04 LTS with the Linux 7.0 kernel. Key changes include Wayland support progress in Cinnamon 6.7-unstable, a new screensaver, elimination of remaining X.Org dependencies, and a switch from the Ubiquity installer to the live installer used by Linux Mint Debian Edition. App improvements will follow once the base and installer work is complete.
