Open-source developer Nikolas Koesling has submitted a patch proposing a new 'hid-pulsar' Linux HID driver for Pulsar wireless gaming mice. The driver exposes features like battery level reporting, voltage, and charging status, and has been tested on models including the X2 V2, X2H, X2A, and Xlite V3. Developed without official documentation, it was reverse-engineered using a Python tool and Wireshark USB packet inspection under Windows. The patch is currently under review on the Linux kernel mailing list, with early feedback suggesting the Pulsar protocol may overlap with Kysona's, potentially leading to a merge with the existing hid-kysona driver.
