Early benchmarks of the Linux 7.1 Git state show generally positive performance results compared to Linux 7.0 stable. Testing was conducted on a Supermicro H13SSL-N server with a 48-core AMD EPYC 9455P Zen 5 processor, DDR5-6000 memory, and PCIe Gen 5 NVMe storage running Ubuntu Server 26.04 LTS. While several performance improvements were observed across different areas, a few potential regressions were also noted. More comprehensive testing across additional hardware is planned after the Linux 7.1-rc1 release.
