Fresh file-system benchmarks on the Linux 7.0 development kernel comparing Btrfs, EXT4, F2FS, and XFS at their defaults. Testing was performed on an AMD EPYC 9745 server with a Solidigm D7-PS1010 PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD. XFS leads the results. Btrfs was tested both with and without copy-on-write. OpenZFS and Bcachefs were excluded due to incompatibility with the Linux 7.0 kernel at the time of testing.
