The cpupower tool in the Linux kernel source tree received two improvements merged into Linux 7.0 Git ahead of rc4. First, the cpupower systemd service file (cpupower-service.conf) now supports setting ACPI Energy Performance Preference (EPP) automatically, equivalent to running 'cpupower set -e'. Second, a bug fix ensures the --boost option correctly reports Intel P-State Turbo Boost status by properly interacting with the intel_pstate driver, rather than always reporting it as active regardless of actual state.
