Lightspeed Studios, the Tencent subsidiary and PUBG Mobile co-developer, has announced a proprietary IP development framework for building triple-A games at scale. Unveiled at GDC Festival of Gaming, the framework prioritizes strong visual identity and art direction over raw graphical fidelity. It structures development so that 90% of a title is built on a templated foundation grounded in real-world references—authentic locations, historical context, and life-like proportions—while the remaining 10% concentrates creative intensity for distinctive storytelling and experiential hooks. The framework was informed by development work on Last Sentinel, an upcoming title from LightSpeed LA.
