These AI tools can generate ransomware, phishing emails, lateral movement scripts, and data exfiltration code without ethical guardrails. While the generated code requires human refinement to evade security protections, these models significantly lower the barrier to entry for aspiring cybercriminals by automating attack code generation and social engineering tasks. Researchers from Palo Alto Networks' Unit 42 demonstrated their capabilities through various prompts that produced functional malicious scripts.
