As a developer i realized i don’t really need an Office replacement, nowadays I just use markdown and export it as a pdf in case a non-tech person needs to see it. With Obsidian i can even make more complex documents.

LibreOffice is very good, it’s just an excellent choice for home, small office, and freelancers. All open docs software (libre,open, etc) covers over 90% of usage, but with collaboration with large documentation i prefer ms office

I really agree to your thoughts, I worked in linux and used libre office. At first it was quite intemidating but I get used to it prety soon…

I love how LibreOffice talks about Microsoft Office so much and never loses its users, just shows how good they are

I think Linux and open-source software such as LibreOffice in this case are what developers and other people need, because I think they take more to heart what their users say than large tech companies. The development tends to go where the users want it to go and not the other way.
