libavif 1.4 has been released by the Alliance for Open Media, bringing new features to the reference AVIF encode/decode library. Key additions include support for converting JPEG files with Apple-style gain maps, Sample Transform schemes from the AVIF v1.2 spec, PNG cICP chunk handling, and reading Sample-Transform-based 16-bit AVIF files. The avifenc encoder tool also gains the ability to read PNG and JPEG files from standard input.
