LeRobot v0.5.0 is a major release with 200+ merged PRs and 50+ new contributors. Key additions include full Unitree G1 humanoid support with whole-body control, six new policies (Pi0-FAST autoregressive VLAs, Real-Time Chunking, Wall-X, X-VLA, SARM, and PEFT/LoRA support), and significant dataset pipeline improvements including streaming video encoding for zero wait time between episodes and 10x faster image training. The release also introduces EnvHub for loading simulation environments directly from the Hugging Face Hub, NVIDIA IsaacLab-Arena GPU-accelerated simulation integration, and codebase modernization with Python 3.12+, Transformers v5, and third-party policy plugin support.
