Legal AI startup Legora has closed a $50 million Series D extension backed by Nvidia's NVentures and Atlassian, pushing its post-money valuation to $5.6 billion. The company also crossed $100 million in ARR and now serves over 1,000 law firms across 50 markets. This intensifies its rivalry with Harvey, valued at $11 billion after Sequoia tripled down. Both companies are expanding into each other's home markets — Legora targeting the U.S., Harvey pushing into Europe — and have launched celebrity-driven ad campaigns (Jude Law for Legora, Gabriel Macht for Harvey). A looming threat exists from foundation model providers like Anthropic, which recently launched a legal plugin for Claude, rattling publicly listed legal software stocks.
