I have a question!
Why do you create you class objects like this:
smeg: Microwave = Microwave(args here)
Instead of
smeg = Microwave(args here)
Is it better or is this a personal preference thing?

I strongly disagree with kind of type annotation he does. In 99% of cases type annotations for function/class signatures is enough. Writing something like
<pre><code>thing: bool = True
</code></pre>
does not bring any value as thing type is inferred by mypy
