Laravel Folio is a Page-based routing system introduced to Laravel at LaraconUS 2023. Using Folio you can easily map a route to a specific file or folder, like NextJS or NuxtJS. We can also create dynamic pages using wildcards.

Interesting I suppose, there are certainly things that seem simple from a quick build point of view, but I don’t particularly have a problem with the traditional routing in laravel, it keeps everything in a nice clean place and is easier to handle middleware and the like.
Also, I’m not really a big fan of using brackets in filenames, makes for annoying things when trying to work in the command line, etc.

It’s a super addition, but for sure it has limited use cases. More complex apps will use the traditional routing, while the simpler ones can choose the Folio approach. Laravel does a great job keeping up with the community and how people build stuff.
