LanceDB has added a direct integration with the Polars DataFrame library for Python written in Rust. LanceDB can now ingest Polars DataFrames, return results as Polars DataFrames, and export the entire table as a Polars LazyFrame. The integration can be improved in terms of batch ingestion of LazyFrames, filter pushdowns, cloud storage capabilities, native Lance reader + UDFs, and integration at the Rust level.
