Stock terminals on all platforms are inferior to specialized ones. It’s cool that these exist and I think they started getting much better after Kitty arrived on the scene and expanded terminal capabilities.

I did research cca 2 months ago and I found out that ghostty is good to go from fresh start, but if you use kitty, there is practically nothing that ghostty can that kitty can’t. In few words:
<ul>
<li>They are basically equal</li>
<li>Ghostty is faster in few use-cases</li>
<li>Kitty is faster in most cases in these days (but I believe that ghostty will be more and more focused on performace in the future)</li>
<li>Kitty has bigger community (again something that can easily change in time)</li>
<li>Kitty still has few more useful features (but ghostty can workaround them with a little of effort)</li>
</ul>
For me its still one of the best terminal its available 9/10 (While in these days kitty still leads for me with 10/10)

Looks like Zig is starting to give Rust a run for their money!

I haven’t used kitty that much but i loved Ghostty, specially with my arch so for me right now it’s the best.
