Kiro, Amazon's agentic IDE with spec-driven development capabilities, is now available in AWS GovCloud (US) regions (us-gov-west-1 and us-gov-east-1). The launch targets developers working in regulated government and defense environments, offering private endpoint connectivity over VPN or Direct Connect for restricted networks, enterprise-only IAM Identity Center authentication, and disabled data collection by default. Kiro is also beginning the process of pursuing FedRAMP High and DoD CC SRG authorization. Access requires enterprise billing.
