Gavin Webb, a senior UK National Crime Agency officer, received an OBE award for his strategic coordination role in Operation Cronos, the 2024 international law enforcement operation that disrupted the LockBit ransomware gang. Webb orchestrated collaboration between international and domestic policing forces to take down LockBit, which was responsible for a quarter of all ransomware attacks between 2023 and 2024. Seven other NCA officers also received honors for their work on various cybercrime and organized crime cases.
