KeePassChi is a new fork of KeePassXC, branched from version 2.7.10 — the last release before KeePassXC adopted an LLM-assisted development policy. A small team of engineers with open source and infosec experience created it, prioritizing stability, security, and trustworthiness over feature bloat. The project is in early stages with a first formal release expected by end of May 2026.
