Benchmarks comparing KDE Plasma 6.6 and GNOME 50 performance on Ubuntu 26.04 beta using the NVIDIA 595.58.03 Linux driver with a GeForce RTX 5080 (Blackwell) GPU. KDE Plasma shows a frequent performance advantage over GNOME 50 in Linux gaming scenarios, mirroring earlier results seen with AMD Radeon graphics. Testing was limited to the Plasma Wayland session, as the X11 session crashed on startup with this NVIDIA setup.
